Revised route for tomorrow, Sunday 15th. With apologies for the confusion caused by yesterday’s posting and almost immediate deletion, here is Plan D. The route keeps us on “reasonable” roads for the most part and calls in for coffee and cakes at the Courtyard Café, Pensthorpe. Wind behind us on the way back.

As usual, a social ride so an average speed of 13 – 15 mph or thereabouts. Departing the Parson Woodforde at 9.15 am. All welcome.

Woodforde Wheelers Sunday Ride

Sunday 8th May

Starts 09:15

Here with the route for Sunday 8th May. By popular demand, a re-run of the WVC Clover Leaf. Bang on 43 miles in length, this route has the advantage that it passes the Parson Woodforde twice before the finish so, if you’ve not ridden for a while and / or just don’t fancy the full distance, there are opportunities to “call it a day” at 14 miles and 29 miles. Our café stop will, once again, call in at Kerri’s Pine at Reepham.

A social ride suitable for all. If you’re not a club member but would like to find out a bit more about us then this is an ideal route for you – nobody gets “dropped” and you can be assured of a warm welcome. 9.15am start from the Parson Woodforde at Weston Longville. Hope to see you there.

Wensum Valley Signature Ride

472 414 wensumcycling

An advance date for your diaries – July 24th 2016; your chance to pay homage to the beautiful River Wensum that gives our club its name.

Over a 77 mile course we’ll ride out to its source near Whissonsett and follow the valley for the river’s entire length to its confluence with the Yare at Whittlingham before returning to the Parson Woodforde.

77 miles “a bit much”? Don’t fret – there are shorter variations so you can take part and join in the spirit of the day whatever your energy levels; sections of the route start at 12 miles so there should be a distance to suit everyone! Key watering-holes include Sculthorpe Mill, The Parson Woodforde and the Barn Café at Whittlingham Broad.

Our Sunday rides are traditionally taken at a “casual” pace and this one is no different. All riders will be welcome so do come and celebrate the Wensum Valley with us… we’ll be making a day of it! More details and .gpx nearer the time.

Ride Leader: Paul Travener

Given the bad combination of road grit, general debris and recent wet, this week’s Sunday route (17th) keeps us away from the worst of the resulting “grinding paste”. As always, the Sunday ride is at a sociable pace (averaging 13-15mph) and is suitable for all. This week we head north to High Kelling, swing by the North Norfolk Railway station at Holt and make a visit to Byford’s Café.

9.00am start from the Parson Woodforde – all very welcome.
